'Button Fern' |
|||
| This is not just a 4" table fern! "Button Fern" is beautiful in 6" and 8" pots (where it is easier to maintain correct water balance to keep plants looking sharp). Additionally, since "Button Fern" is hardy into the teens, it has lots of uses in the landscape. (Ours have survived 13ºF as understory planting.) | |||

Growing Information Zone: 8-10 Light: Not critical...filtered shade to part day sun as long as the sun isn't mid-day sun. Temperature: Also not critical as long as you have 'frosts', not long, hard freezes. Feed: Quarter to half strength Miracle Gro® when there is new growth. Not necessry to feed once they are planted in the ground. Water: Keep moist but not wet. The trick to good "Button Ferns" is correct water balance. Potting Mix: Mix should have some peat for ion exchange capacity but should drain well. In the ground they are much more forgiving and will even withstand brief periods of drought. Pest Control: Not generally bothered by pests. Pot size: 4" up to 8" |
